RDSP Registered Disability Savings Plan:
Government of Ontario has a Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). RDSP helps families with disability save money tax free until withdrawn. Check the website for more details LINK


Funding : As per Ministry of children and youth there are 2 options:

  • Direct service option: receive intervention directly from nine regional service providers LINK
  • Direct funding option: receive funding directly and then receive service from private provider.

Financial Assistance:


Respite Services :
There is funding available for other respite and at home special services for children with autism. Families can receive upto seven days of respite per year. These services can be requested to be outside their home. Visit nearest ministry regional office LINK


Ontario Disability Support Program:
Ontario Disability Support Program helps individuals with disability in need of financial help to pay for their living expenses such as food and housing. LINK

  • Teaching Developmentally Disabled Children: The Me Book by Ole Ivar Lovaas. (Austin, Texas: Pro-Ed, 1981). Describes a home-based program for behavior modification therapy.
  • The World of the Autistic Child: Understanding and Treating Autistic Spectrum Disorders by Bryna Siegel. (New York: Oxford University Press, 1996). Discusses diagnostic process and gives descriptions of the differences between Autism/PDD/Aspergers/Retts Syndrome etc.
